Urban Pet is made up of pet-loving trained professionals who provide high-quality services to pets.
We know how important it is to maintain a healthy relationship with all our customers both human and canine.
Dogs vary a great deal in age, weight, health, temperament, and general behavior, so we treat each dog individually and try our utmost to provide outstanding service each and every time we see your pooch.
We are made up of award winning certified stylists and are constantly updating on: grooming trends, specialized breed cuts, grooming methods & dog handling.
1. Do I need to schedule an appointment in advance?
Making a pet grooming appointment ahead of time ensures that you (and, more importantly, your pet) aren’t kept waiting any longer than necessary. Weekends tend to be especially busy, so appointments are highly recommended on Saturdays. We’re happy to take walk-ins when we have availability.
2. What vaccinations do you require?
In order to maintain a safe, comfortable environment, we do require all pets to be current on their rabies vaccinations and to wait at least 48 hours after shots before checking in. The waiting period helps to ensure your pet isn’t sore at the injection site, which can cause irritability or lethargy. Puppies must have their Parvo virus vaccine in order to be admitted. Note that all pets must be in good health prior to receiving any pet grooming services.
3. How long will the grooming take?
The amount of time it takes for pet grooming varies by breed and service, but you can usually plan on it taking about two hours. Minor services, such as dog nail trims, take about 15 minutes.
4. Will my pet be kenneled?
Pets are kept in kennels just in the waiting time in order to ensure their security and health. We keep kennel time as minimal as possible and there is always someone on hand to watch your pets.
5. Why aren’t prices listed for dog grooming and bathing?
Dog grooming packages are based on breed, condition of coat and time taken to complete the service. While we can do our best to provide an approximate price range over the phone, you’ll get the most accurate quote if we can assess your pet in person.
6. Will my pet be sedated?
We never sedate pets, nor do we accept pets that have been sedated. If your dog or cat has been known to have a strong behavioral reaction to grooming or bathing, please advise us when dropping off. If a pet is truly uncooperative or made uncomfortable by the process, we might end the session – but we will never sedate your pet.
7. How can I be sure the best services are provided for my pet’s specific needs?
At check-in, we will perform a thorough assessment and discuss your pet’s needs with you to make sure the most appropriate services are selected.
